{Wedding} Jenna & Tom | Woodhouse Barn, Pembrokeshire

From the moment we first met at their beautiful home, it was clear that Tom and Jenna are completely relaxed and easy going individuals that complement each other perfectly. They were married on a crisp, windy April day in the superbly fitting Woodhouse Barn in Rosemarket, Pembrokeshire and didn't stop laughing and smiling all day.

After an easy drive west across the South Wales coast, I arrived in the quaint village of Rosemarket, where the bridal party were all staying. Getting ready just opposite each other meant that I was able to photograph both the groom and his groomsmen, and the bride and her maids, prior to leaving for the ceremony.

The girls had a beautifully relaxed morning getting ready in one of the Church View Cottages and Jenna was delighted to be surprised by her touching card from her groom to be as well as a stunning pearl bracelet from her mother and two sisters.

One of my favourite parts of a wedding is photographing all the little details that the couple, and in this case, the whole family have come together to create. The dainty buttonholes, the flowers, those Carvella shoes, Gran’s antique earrings and the homemade garter. This wedding was as personal and unique to Jenna and Tom as it could be.

It was soon time to head a few minutes up the road to the venue. Woodhouse Barn features a purpose built Hen House, perfectly equipped and licensed to legally marry the couple in front of nearly a hundred of their closest family and friends. The ceremony was made even more special with the reading of and extract of the Velveteen Rabbit by Jenna’s close friend.

After some refreshments, we headed outside for the more formal side of wedding photography: the group shots and some couple portraits. Despite the wind, everyone remained in high spirits and it wasn’t long before they were seated in the breath-taking barn room for a delicious vegetarian feast.

The Barn was a blank canvas allowing the couple to decorate it exactly how they wanted it to look. Jenna and Tom had taken care of everything, ensuring that there guests were well looked after and (literally) comfortable all day, with the provision of flip flops! The cake was another family masterpiece, lovingly made by Jenna’s talented mother.

The evening got into full swing thanks to the excellent band that are Chaperone. As a former member of a band, Tom couldn’t help get up and have an emotional sing song with them – it went down a storm. Honestly one of the best ways to start a wedding party that I’ve seen. Everyone sang and danced with smiles in their eyes. All weddings are joyous occasions, but this one took happiness to the next level. It was an absolute pleasure to be part of such a wonderful wedding, with such an easy going bride and groom.

Congratulations Mr and Mrs Owen, you are a beautiful couple!

Woodhouse Barn is a superb venue and I would urge anyone planning their wedding to have a look around. From a wedding photography perspective, there are plenty of opportunities and it is most definitely an all weather venue if need be. Moreover, the staff were all so friendly and the owners couldn't do enough to keep everyone happy.
